Introduction to Wychwood Game

Our philosophy at Wychwood is to create innovative products that offer the best specification available for the price.

All of our products are designed in Redditch, England by British designers to meet the demands of the British game angler. We use inspiration from outside the tackle industry when creating any product, allowing us to create special and different products, standing out from the competition. Our products are individually tested by experts in the field, then refined until the design and specification have achieved exactly what we set out to do.

The following pages are here to give you an insight into the process behind creating a market leading product, from the initial idea right through to the finished product. We are proud of our products, we want you to be proud of your tackle

The Wychwood Game Design Process

There are no shortcuts when it comes to designing performance products. You can't design the best gear sitting in a boardroom, you have to be out there come rain or shine to know what really works. At Wychwood Game we design products that perform - fact.

• Our Product Designers are fanatics. We eat, sleep, and live for our fishing and there is nothing better than actually fishing with gear that you have designed.
• Most of our new products actually start off as ideas on the bank. If we have a problem to solve, then chances are we won’t be the only ones, and so a new product is born.
• Every product is designed by British anglers for the conditions we face day in day out. We work with manufacturers around the world to develop the best products possible. Detailed technical drawings transform our dreams into reality.
• You have to use the best raw materials if you want the best products. You don’t have to worry about quality, because we have already done the hard work, you just need to enjoy it.
• It takes over a year to go from initial idea to having a finished product. Unfortunately, we have to go out and rigorously test every sample – hey, someone’s got to do it!
• Only when we are completely happy will a new product hit the shelves. We take the greatest pride in everyone of our new babies, from the smallest accessory to the latest range of rods.
• We don’t make products in a vacuum, there is a huge range of fishing tackle out there and you can be sure that every product is keenly priced, despite the time and attention we take in designing each one.
